FAQ's

  • How can I find out if Neurofeedback training can assist with my problems?

Contact Brainwaves directly and talk to Julie about your situation or problems.

  • Do I need a referral from my doctor to make and appointment?

No you do not need a referral from a doctor to make an appointment, just call 0416 155 817 or use the form below to contact us.

  • How old do you have to be to do Neurofeedback training?

So far our youngest client has been 4 years of age and the oldest 82 years, as neurofeedback training is non-invasive and is effective no matter the age, any age is okay as long as the training can be conducted.

  • Do the effects of Neurofeedback training last?

According to the research that has tracked changes with follow up studies, once improvements and changes have been achieved and stabilised, then they are maintained and in some cases that person will continue to make further gains.

  • How much does Neurofeedback therapy cost?

The cost will vary based on the number of sessions required. After the intake and assessment is completed then psychologist Julie Hill will be better able to provide you with a therapy plan and estimate of the number of sessions and approximate costs.

  • How often do you need to have the sessions and how long does each session last?

The minimum number of sessions is two per week, but at Brainwaves there is the capacity to do intensive programs, (two sessions per day for 5 or 6 days a week – over two or three weeks). These intensive programs are most often utilised by those who live out of town and come into Rockhampton during a holiday period. My experience has been that this intensive method can achieve the same results that two sessions per week can achieve, but in a shorter period of time.

Allow an hour for each session, regardless of whether it is neurofeedback training or psychotherapy.

  • Who can benefit from Neurofeedback training?

Almost everyone can benefit from neurofeedback training. Those with a range of problematic symptoms can benefit and also those who would like to improve i.e. peak performance/brain brightening.

Neurofeedback can help to calm the over-aroused brain, it will help with sleep, anxiety, and tics.  Neurofeedback improves focus, concentration and memory, and can also improve mood and motivation.  Neurofeedback helps the brain to perform better.
